Baseball Recap: Logan Wins Going Away Against Cimarron

Logan won the last time they faced Cimarron and things went their way on Friday too. The Longhorns put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 13-3 win. Considering the Longhorns have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kale Griffiths spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single walk in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mason Wallin was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Logan is undefeated when Wallin posts two or more runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Mitchell Wall, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Logan lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Logan and bumps their season record up to 8-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Cimarron, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Logan will welcome Magdalena at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Steers will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Longhorns surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cimarron, they will host Grady at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bronchos have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.71 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of.
