Ithaca/Weston had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the De Soto Pirates. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-8 two weeks ago.

Jacey Maxwell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maylee Pluemer, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Valerie Bauer, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Ithaca/Weston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Ithaca/Weston's record now sits at 11-1. As for De Soto, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-8.

Coming up, Ithaca/Weston will host Cashton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for De Soto, they will venture away from home to take on Seneca at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
