Basketball Recap: Grant Takes a Loss

After flying high against Santa Fe South Pathways Middle College last Monday, Grant came back down to earth. The Grant Generals were dealt a 63-30 defeat at the hands of the Putnam City Pirates on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Generals in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now lost five in a row.

Grant's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Putnam City, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-10.

Grant and Putnam City could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. Grant will square off against Deer Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday down 219 places (301 vs. 82). Meanwhile, Putnam City (ranked 220th) will meet Mustang (ranked 18th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
