Baseball Recap: Pearl-Cohn Takes a Loss

Pearl-Cohn lost against Maplewood back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Firebirds fell 8-5 to the Panthers. The Firebirds just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Joshua Wilson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-1. Another player making a difference was Antruan Hockett, who scored a run and stole four bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Pearl-Cohn's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Maplewood, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pearl-Cohn will take on Stratford at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Maplewood, they will challenge Whites Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
