Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ryker Van Komen and Ledger Wight Lead Syracuse to Victory

Syracuse won against Woods Cross last Friday with 37 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Titans were the clear victors by a 37-12 margin over the Roy Royals. This was payback for the Titans, who suffered a 30-15 loss the last time these two teams met.

Leading Syracuse to victory were Ledger Wight and Ryker Van Komen. Wight threw for 181 yards and three TDs while completing 77.3% of his passes, while Van Komen gained 175 total yards and a touchdown. Those three passing touchdowns gave Wight a new career-high. Weston Russell was in the mix too, providing Syracuse with two scores.

Despite the loss, Roy still got an impressive performance from Collin Chapman, who threw for 163 yards and one touchdown on only 15 passes.

Syracuse has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 37.0 points this season. As for Roy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Syracuse will take on Bountiful at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Roy, they will face off against Weber at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
