Softball Recap: Helix Beats Valhalla for Their Third Straight Victory

Helix extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 12-5 in the process. They put the hurt on the Valhalla Norsemen with a sharp 13-3 win. Considering the Highlanders have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Ta'Tiannah Wright, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Naviah Conchas, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Helix hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in ten consecutive games.

As for Valhalla, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 15 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

On Valhalla's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liliana Moscoso, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Coming up, Helix will look to defend their home field on Friday against El Cajon Valley at 4:00 p.m. The Braves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.25 runs per game on average), something the Highlanders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Valhalla, they are taking a road trip to square off against Granite Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games the Eagles have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
