Recap: Farrington Governors vs. Pearl City Chargers

The Farrington Governors had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 36-24 to Pearl City. Farrington lost against Pearl City in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 39-27 score last time.

Pearl City found their leader in underclassman Aiesha DeWeever, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for DeWeever. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiesha DeWeever, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Farrington bumped their record down to 0-1 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Pearl City, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Farrington will be home for the holidays to greet Kahuku at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kahuku is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Pearl City, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Waialua at 6:30 p.m. on December 13th.
