Softball Recap: Montrose Has No Trouble Against Forest City

Montrose won the last time they faced Forest City and things went their way on Friday too. The Meteors blew past the Foresters 13-5. The Meteors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

Jocelyn Traver was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Traver was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Violet Conning, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. MycKenna Kublo was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Montrose has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.1 runs over those games. As for Forest City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Montrose is set to face off against their familiar foe Blue Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Forest City will square off against rival Carbondale Area at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
