Basketball Recap: Millikan Piles Up the Points Against Palos Verdes

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Millikan). They blew past the Palos Verdes Sea Kings, posting a 74-42 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won three games in a row.

Millikan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Quali Giran led the charge by shooting 55% from the field en route to 25 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Giran has scored at least a third of the Rams' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Wicker, who went 9-for-16 to rack up 21 points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

The victory got Millikan back to even at 3-3. As for Palos Verdes, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Millikan won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Notre Dame (SO) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Palos Verdes, they will take on St. John Bosco in a tournament on Monday.
