Volleyball Game Preview: Windber Ramblers vs. Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers

Windber is 0-10 against Berlin Brothersvalley since October of 2020 but things could change on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Windber is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Shade.

Windber had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-23, 26-24, 25-19.

Windber relied on the efforts of Amber Dunmyer, who had nine digs and four aces, and Kyra Tomak, who had six digs and four aces. That's the most aces Dunmyer has posted since back in September.

They weren't the only good servers: Windber was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in five consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Berlin Brothersvalley came tearing into Thursday's contest with nine straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 3-0 win.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-12, 25-16.

Windber's record is now 17-7-2. As for Berlin Brothersvalley, their record now sits at 21-1-1.

Windber suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Berlin Brothersvalley when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Ramblers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
