Softball Recap: Brooklyn Hurricanes vs. Lutheran West Longhorns

Brooklyn extended their losing streak to eight on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 1-9 in the process. They lost 16-1 to the Lutheran West Longhorns. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Longhorns this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-5 back in April.

As for Lutheran West, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-9. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by eight runs or more this season.

For Lutheran West's part, Gabriella 'Gabi' List was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. List was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, Emerson 'Emmy' Hayes was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Peyton Steinbrenner was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.
