Lovington's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They put the hurt on the Artesia Bulldogs with a sharp 62-41 victory. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Lovington's win bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Artesia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

Looking ahead, Lovington will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Goddard at 5:30 p.m. As for Artesia, they are taking a road trip to square off against Portales at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Portales has five straight victories, Artesia has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
