Basketball Game Preview: Tempe Buffaloes vs. Greenway Demons

Tempe hasn't had much luck against Greenway recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Tempe Buffaloes will take on the Greenway Demons in a holiday battle at at 5:30 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Tempe lost to Moon Valley on the road by a 49-30 margin.

Despite their defeat, Tempe saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kiari Montanez-Woods, who posted 11 points, was perhaps the best of all. That was a full 36.7% of Tempe's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Samarah Massicot, who had nine points.

Meanwhile, Greenway humbled Independence with a 61-19 victory. The Demons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 35 points or more this season.

Greenway's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Tempe, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Tempe took a serious blow against Greenway when the teams last played back in February of 2022, falling 67-22. Can Tempe avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
