Football Game Preview: Sherwood Bowmen vs. Liberty Falcons

Sherwood is 7-1 against Liberty since November of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bowmen will challenge the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Sherwood is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Sherwood is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 50-7 victory over McMinnville. With that win, the Bowmen brought their scoring average up to 26.3 points per game.

Jack Wilson had a dynamite game, rushing for 108 yards and one touchdown, while also catching one TD. Those 108 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Kai Boatsman was another key player, throwing for 109 yards and three touchdowns on perfect 7-for-7 passing.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sherwood was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 341 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Sherwood didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Greyson McCulloch and Bastian Bowden.

Meanwhile, Liberty was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 48-42 to Newberg. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sherwood's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Liberty, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Everything came up roses for Sherwood against Liberty in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 35-6 win. In that game, the Bowmen amassed a halftime lead of 28-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
