Basketball Recap: Jared Mcgonagle's Big Game Can't Quite Lead the Pilgrim Academy over Atlantic County Institute of Tech

The Pilgrim Academy lost against Atlantic County Institute of Tech back in January of 2017, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pilgrim Academy Pioneers lost 77-53 to Atlantic County Institute of Tech. The Pioneers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-19.

Several Pioneers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jared McGonagle, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Those 19 points gave McGonagle a new career-high. Mason Parmer was another key player, going 6-for-12 en route to 14 points along with eight boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, The Pilgrim Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive matches.

The Pilgrim Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Atlantic County Institute of Tech, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-12.
