Allendale dropped down to 5-11 on Saturday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Hopkins Vikings by a score of 12-11. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 5-1.

As for Hopkins, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games.

For Hopkins' part, Kellen Ford was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave Ford a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Woollam, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs.

Looking ahead, Allendale will welcome Coopersville at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup will give the Falcons their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Hopkins, they will venture away from home to face off against Calvin Christian at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Squires' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
