Baseball Recap: San Benito Greyhounds vs. Harlingen Cardinals

San Benito extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 10-14 in the process. They came up short against the Harlingen Cardinals, falling 10-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 on April 8th.

As for Harlingen, the win got them back to even at 13-13. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Harlingen's part, Ernesto Aleman looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Aleman has become a key player for the Cardinals: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 10-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Justin Noyola was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Gaytan, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Coming up, San Benito will look to defend their home field on Monday against Mission Veterans Memorial at 6:00 p.m. The Patriots will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Greyhounds surely won't give up without a fight.
