Basketball Recap: Calvary Christian Academy's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

The matchup between Calvary Christian Academy and International Community on Tuesday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Calvary Christian Academy Lions fell 62-53 to the International Community Comets. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ledaruen Wiggins, who posted 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Nehemiah Wigley was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.

International Community got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jace Grover out in front who went 6 of 8 on his way to 22 points. The dominant performance gave Grover a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Slade Woodruff, who put up 11 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

Calvary Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for International Community, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-5.

Calvary Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Faith Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. International Community will take on Trinity Prep in a holiday battle at at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. International Community is facing Trinity Prep at the right time seeing as Trinity Prep is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
