Basketball Recap: Windham Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Malcolm Hunter and Anden Gonzalez

Windham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 68-53 fall against the Norwich Free Academy Wildcats. The Whippets were probably out for revenge after losing 76-44 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the defeat, Windham had strong showings from Anden Gonzalez, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds, and Malcolm Hunter, who went 6 of 12 en route to 17 points and five boards. The matchup was Hunter's 13th in a row with at least ten points. Alexander Pomo was another key player, putting up six points and nine rebounds.

Windham's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Norwich Free Academy, they moved to 4-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Windham will be playing at home against Parish Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Norwich Free Academy has already played their next game (against West Haven), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
