Volleyball Recap: New Diana Comes Up Short at Home Against Marshall

New Diana unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 3-1 to the Marshall Mavericks on Tuesday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mavericks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Marshall scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-19, 23-25, 25-21.

Looking ahead, New Diana will host Gilmer at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marshall, they will be taking part in a tournament against White Oak at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday.
