Basketball Recap: Poplarville Comes Up Short

Poplarville lost against Bay back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Poplarville Hornets were outmatched by the Bay Tigers and fell 50-10. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Tigers are ranked 59th).

Poplarville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-21 record this season. As for Bay, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-8.

Poplarville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bay, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Bay Tigers challenge the Greene County Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
