Portsmouth Christian proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 44) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 47-44 win over the Hampton Christian Academy Warriors. Winning may never get old, but the Patriots sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.

Hampton Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Asher Joyce, who posted 16 points and six rebounds. That's the most boards Joyce has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Joel Fullwood, who put up 12 points.

Portsmouth Christian's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. As for Hampton Christian Academy, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-8.

Portsmouth Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-53 win against Greenbrier Christian Academy on the 28th. Hampton Christian Academy has also already played their next game, an 81-46 victory against StoneBridge on the 28th.
