Baseball Recap: Gateway Has No Trouble Against Oasis

Gateway lost to Oasis back in April of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Gateway Eagles blew past the Oasis Sharks 20-4. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 8.4 runs per game.

Gateway got a massive performance out of Devyn Vitiello, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave Vitiello a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jacob Hardman, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.

Gateway was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oasis only posted a batting average of .235.

Gateway now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Oasis, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gateway will welcome Cypress Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Gateway is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Oasis, they will square off against Southwest Florida Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
