Basketball Recap: Avon Falls Short of Brownsburg in the Playoffs

Avon and Brownsburg squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Avon had to settle for second. They fell to the Brownsburg Bulldogs 44-40. The game marked the Orioles' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Despite the loss, Avon still got an impressive performance from DeAndre Lott-Hancock, who shot 67% from the field en route to 18 points along with five boards and three steals. Lott-Hancock is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Keriawn Berry, who posted ten points.

Brownsburg's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Devon Craig, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Brandon, who earned four points and nine rebounds.

Avon's defeat dropped their record down to 20-4. As for Brownsburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season.

Avon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brownsburg, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-47 win against Plainfield on the 7th.
