Northwestern hasn't had much luck against Western recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Tigers will face off against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Northwestern is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

Northwestern is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Maconaquah 4-3. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Braves: they've now won eight in a row.

Northwestern's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Chase DeWitt, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Western had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Red Devils a 4-0 shutout.

Northwestern's victory bumped their record up to 20-7. As for Western, their win bumped their record up to 24-4.

Northwestern couldn't quite finish off Western in their previous matchup back in April and fell 3-1. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
