Soccer Recap: Salem Starts Season with Defeat on the Road + How To Watch

Salem kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 5-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Murphysboro Red Devils. Salem were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Murphysboro apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Salem hit Murphysboro with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Eli Baker, Robby Shober, and Payton Gullion.

Salem wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 9-1 victory against Pinckneyville on the 26th. As for Murphysboro, they will be taking part in a tournament against Central at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
