Recap: Parker Thundering Herd vs. Jackson-Olin Mustangs
The Parker Thundering Herd came tearing into Tuesday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Jackson-Olin 46-19 at home. Considering Parker has won eight matches by more than 23 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Parker to victory, but perhaps none more so than Teralyn Hill, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Hill hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Taniya Smith was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Parker is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Jackson-Olin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parker will take on Homewood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Homewood is on a three-game streak of home wins, Parker a eight-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Jackson-Olin is on the road again on Friday and play against Minor at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th.
