Basketball Recap: Fossil Ridge Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

Fossil Ridge extended their home winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Walker Shields. The Fossil Ridge SaberCats strolled past the Windsor Wizards with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 60-46 thanks in part to Shields, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 19 points. What's more, he also posted a 62% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in February of 2024.

Carter Gray was another key player, putting up 11 points and five rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 40.7% three-point shooting accuracy.

Fossil Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.9 points over those games. As for Windsor, their loss dropped their record down to 14-5.

Fossil Ridge and Windsor should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. Fossil Ridge will challenge Greeley West at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 272 places (28 vs. 300). Fossil Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.9 points per game this season. Similarly, Windsor (ranked 33rd) will meet Poudre (ranked 157th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
