The Willow Spring Storm are taking a road trip to face off against the Hoggard Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Willow Spring is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.4 points per game this season.

Willow Spring is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 19, 2024 on Monday. They came up short against South Garner, falling 67-41. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Storm came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Titans are ranked 216th).

Despite their loss, Willow Spring saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Brady Williams, who posted 13 points and five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Zyair Campbell also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first rebound of the season.

Even though they lost, Willow Spring smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Hoggard ended up a good deal behind New Hanover on Friday and lost 66-51.

Like Willow Spring, Hoggard lost despite seeing results from several players. Hunter McGrath led the charge by going 7-for-15 to rack up 18 points in addition to six boards and three steals. McGrath is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Will Seward, who went 6-for-9 en route to 13 points and eight rebounds.

Hoggard's defeat dropped their record down to 21-5. As for Willow Spring, their loss dropped their record down to 16-9.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Willow Spring has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 37.3 boards per game. However, it's not like Hoggard struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.4 rebounds.
