Basketball Recap: Countryside Christian Takes a Loss

Countryside Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the Meadowbrook Academy Mustangs and fell 56-23. The matchup marked the Minutemen's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meadowbrook Academy can attribute much of their success to Gaige Daugherty, who posted ten points and five rebounds. What's more, Daugherty also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in January. Another player making a difference was Jared Frontanes, who earned six points and four steals.

Countryside Christian now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Meadowbrook Academy, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Countryside Christian will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Saint Francis Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Meadowbrook Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-34 victory against Cedar Key on the 20th.
