Softball Recap: Landrum Takes a Loss

Landrum fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Broome on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Centurions by a score of 8-7. The Cardinals' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Ashton Chapman made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run. Ava Clayton was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Landrum's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Broome, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Looking ahead, Landrum will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Blacksburg at 6:00 p.m. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight. As for Broome, they will take on Mountain View Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
