Baseball Recap: Evart Snags Ninth Victory in Last 11 Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Reed City, Evart was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Roscommon Bucks as they made off with a 7-1 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brendan Magnusson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, earning two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sean Jackson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 13 contests. Another player making a difference was Lucas Johnson, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Evart has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Roscommon, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
