Basketball Recap: Abington Heights Takes a Loss

If Abington Heights was feeling good fresh off their 63-37 takedown of Emmaus last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Abington Heights Comets fell 63-54 to the Uniontown Red Raiders on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 15th).

Uniontown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kelan Milsom, who went 7 of 10 en route to 22 points and six rebounds. Milsom continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Calvin Winfrey, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 20 points.

Abington Heights now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Uniontown, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

Abington Heights and Mentor will face off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Uniontown, they and Aliquippa will face off at 8:45 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
