Basketball Preview: Stonewall Longhorns vs. Konawa Tigers
The Stonewall Longhorns will head out on the road to take on the Konawa Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Stonewall is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Tigers in Oklahoma (the Longhorns are ranked 58th, while the Tigers are ranked 388th).
Stonewall unfortunately witnessed the end of their 22-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Allen by a score of 50-47. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Stonewall has scored all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Konawa's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were dealt a 82-45 loss at the hands of Holdenville. Konawa has struggled against the Wolverines recently, as their game on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Stonewall's defeat ended a 11-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-1. As for Konawa, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-12.
Stonewall beat the Tigers 44-37 when the teams last played back in December of 2021. Will Stonewall repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
