Fairfield barely beat Fayetteville-Perry the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Rockets on Monday. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Rockets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Corbin Willey was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Willey was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zane Matthews, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Caleb Rice was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Fairfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fayetteville-Perry only posted a batting average of .259.

The win got Fairfield back to even at 2-2. As for Fayetteville-Perry, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
