Softball Game Preview: Beloit Memorial Purple Knights vs. Janesville Craig Cougars

The Beloit Memorial Purple Knights will venture away from home to take on the Janesville Craig Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Beloit Memorial is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Beloit Memorial came up short against Elkhorn and fell 8-4.

Jasmine Smith made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Janesville Craig was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 12-5 to Badger.

Alexis Hanson was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Ava Schaffner also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Janesville Craig's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Beloit Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 3-8.

Beloit Memorial couldn't quite get it done against Janesville Craig in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 11-8. Can the Purple Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
