Baseball Game Preview: Holdenville Wolverines vs. McLoud Redskins

Holdenville is 0-3 against McLoud since April of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Wolverines will challenge the Redskins at 7:00 p.m.

Holdenville managed to slip by Casady the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wolverines lost 18-9 to the Cyclones back in March.

Kaden Rogers was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Dockrey, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, McLoud sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over Seminole on Tuesday. The Redskins haven't had any issues with the Chieftains recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Brayden Smith was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Smith was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Gavyn Morgan was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Eli Nemecek, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Holdenville's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for McLoud, their record is now 5-11.

Holdenville might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from McLoud in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Can the Wolverines avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
