Basketball Recap: Liberty Hawks vs. Strathmore Spartans
Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 66-35 loss at the hands of the Strathmore Spartans. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2019.
Despite the loss, Liberty had strong showings from Mauro Farinelli, who posted eight points, and Troy Sandoval, who put up ten points. Farinelli is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.
Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Strathmore, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty will square off against Vasquez at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season. As for Strathmore, they and Mendota will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
