Football Recap: Rosary Academy Comes Up Short

Rosary Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were outmatched by the Orange Lutheran Lancers and fell 44-6. If the Royals were looking for revenge after losing 26-6 to the Lancers when the teams met back in October of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Orange Lutheran, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.5 points over those games.

Makena Cook produced another solid effort throwing for 283 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.9 yards per attempt. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa McClure, who threw for 108 yards and a pair of TDs.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rosary Academy will welcome Fullerton at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Orange Lutheran, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Banning at 4:00 p.m.
