Basketball Recap: Little Axe Triumphs

Little Axe won the last time they faced Wayne, and Esteban Calderon did his part to make sure it happened again. The Little Axe Indians snuck past the Wayne Bulldogs with a 73-69 victory on Tuesday thanks in part to Calderon, who went 12 of 18 on his way to 26 points along with six boards and six steals. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Edgar Deloera, who posted eight points. Deloera is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Little Axe now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Wayne, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Little Axe will take on Destiny Christian in a tournament on Thursday. As for Wayne, they will head out on the road to face off against Bray-Doyle at 8:00 p.m. on December 17th.
