While St. Vincent-St. Mary put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Elyria. The Fighting Irish were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Pioneers. Winning may never get old, but the Fighting Irish sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
St. Vincent-St. Mary got a great performance from John Klimczak as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Klimczak a new career-high.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rylan Hurley, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Whitney, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
St. Vincent-St. Mary was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
St. Vincent-St. Mary's record is now 8-4. As for Elyria, they moved to 4-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
