Baseball Recap: Highland Wins Going Away Against Cuyahoga Falls

While Highland put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Cuyahoga Falls. The Hornets put the hurt on the Black Tigers with a sharp 13-0 victory. That 13 run margin sets a new team best for the Hornets this season.

Dan Miller made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Casey Myser, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Peyton Ganda, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.

Highland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive matches.

Highland's record now sits at 16-3. As for Cuyahoga Falls, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's still a better percentage than their 4-14 record this season.

Highland will have a chance to go back-to-back against Cuyahoga Falls: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
