Baseball Recap: Mamou Comes Up Short

Mamou blew Church Point out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Church Point got their revenge. The Mamou Demons fell just short of the Church Point Bears by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Demons have suffered since February 19, 2024.

With the loss, Mamou broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Church Point, they pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mamou will host Opelousas at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mamou is facing Opelousas at the right time seeing as Opelousas is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Church Point, they will be playing at home against Berchmans Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
