Basketball Recap: North Hills Christian Eagles vs. Statesville Christian Lions
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Victory Christian Center, the North Hills Christian Eagles were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Statesville Christian 30-27. That result was just more of the same for these two, as North Hills Christian also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.
North Hills Christian was led to victory by Ava Kibler and Addison Shehan. Kibler scored six points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Shehan scored nine points.
North Hills Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Statesville Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Hills Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Falcons at 6:15 p.m. on February 2nd. United Faith Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Eagles in North Carolina (the Falcons are ranked 198th, while the Eagles are ranked 453rd). As for Statesville Christian, they will be playing at home against the Barracudas at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
