Football Recap: LaSalle-Peru Takes a Loss + How To Watch

LaSalle-Peru made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Kaneland, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cavaliers fell just short of the Knights by a score of 23-21 on Friday. The Cavaliers haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the defeat, LaSalle-Peru saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Marion Persich rushed for 153 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 109 yards on 15 of 27 attempts.

LaSalle-Peru's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Kaneland, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Coming up, LaSalle-Peru will challenge O'Fallon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cavaliers will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Kaneland, they will square off against Althoff Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
