League recap: Key throws longest pass in league this season for Broken Arrow

6A District 2 recap September 17, 2013

Coleman Key and Austin Reed provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Bentonville. The longest such play in 6A District 2 this season, the connection resulted in 69 yards.

Edison moved up to 77 from 121 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Eagles were able to make move up by topping Memorial 34-19.

Marshall Ray and Nic Roller gave Bixby a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Ray threw for 339 yards and 4 touchdowns, while Roller ran for 128 yards. Zach Reynolds also contributed to the rushing game with 23 yards on the ground.

Dylan Harding was the best wideout in the league this week as Jenks topped Union. Harding tallied 2 receptions for 113 yards. Steven Parker helped Jenks' passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 87 yards.

Ray put up the best numbers in passing as Bixby beat Page. Ray's favorite target this week was Kyle Rhine, who caught 4 passes for 110 yards.

He was 18-42 with 0 interceptions.

Roller was the best running back in 6A District 2 this week.

Loren Montgomery's team was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting the Sandites. The Spartans came in at 16 in the state poll after placing at number 35 last week.
