Football Recap: Garinger Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Garinger extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 1-6. They had to suffer through a 66-0 loss at the hands of the Hough Huskies. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while the Huskies are ranked third).

As for Hough, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Ethan Royal had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 177 yards and three touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes, and also rushing for 30 yards and a pair of TDs. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (168.8). Another player making a difference was Jayden White, who picked up 106 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Garinger wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 66-21 defeat against Hopewell on the 17th. As for Hough, they have also already played their next contest, a 42-10 win against South Mecklenburg on the 17th.
