Basketball Recap: Sayville Takes a Loss

Sayville lost against Mount Sinai last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The contest between the Sayville Golden Flashes and the Mount Sinai Mustangs didn't end well, with the Sayville Golden Flashes falling 71-52.

It was another big night for Dominic Pennzello, who posted 27 points for Mount Sinai. That makes it four consecutive games in which Pennzello has scored at least a third of Mount Sinai's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Kolsch, who scored 11 points and five assists.

Sayville's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Mount Sinai, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.

Sayville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mount Sinai, they will be playing at home against Miller Place at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Mount Sinai knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 matchups -- so hopefully Miller Place likes a good challenge.
