Recap: Lake Orion Dragons vs. West Bloomfield Lakers
The Lake Orion Dragons put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 74-27 win over West Bloomfield. Lake Orion's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Despite the loss, West Bloomfield still got an impressive performance from Summer Davis, who scored 24 points along with six steals and five assists. Davis has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kendall Hendrix, who scored 12 points along with five assists and five steals.
Lake Orion's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for West Bloomfield, their defeat ended a 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Orion will challenge Clarkston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Bloomfield, they will head out on the road to challenge Oxford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oxford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 117th, while West Bloomfield is ranked second).
