Jordan had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They breezed by the Hillside Hornets to the tune of 54-26. The Falcons pushed the score to 46-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hornets had little chance of recovering from.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jordan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Olivia Yancey, who went 6 of 15 en route to 17 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Valerie-Ange Batta, who went 6 for 7 on her way to 12 points and eight rebounds.
Yancey wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Jordan was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hillside only posted two assists.
Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mckenzy Green, who posted 12 points and three steals. Green also put up a block, which washer first of the season.
Jordan is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Hillside, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-12.
Coincidentally, Jordan and Hillside will both be playing Chapel Hill the next time they take the court. Hillside will head out to face Chapel Hill at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Jordan will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
